Candid Diwali Celebration

Create one vertical 9:16 image: a candid phone photo of the woman in the attached photo on the street outside her home on Diwali night, taken by a friend at the exact second a cracker goes off nearby.

Identity first. She is the same person as in the attached photo: keep her facial structure, eyes, brows, nose, lips, jaw, skin tone, age and natural asymmetry. The moment. She was in the middle of saying something to a friend when a cracker burst behind the camera. Her shoulders have come up, her head has ducked a little to one side, and she is laughing with her eyes on the friend she was talking to, just beside the camera, not on the lens. One hand has come up near her ear, fingers loosely curled; the other is out of frame.

She wears a deep-wine georgette saree with a thin gold border, small jhumkas and a few thin bangles.

Framed from the waist up, her face large in the upper-middle and slightly off-centre. At one edge of the foreground, out of focus, a friend's hand holds a lit sparkler that throws sparks into the frame.

Light. The sparkler lights the near side of her face warm gold and catches the gold border and the jhumkas; the cracker's burst adds a brief brighter glow from the front, so her whole face reads clearly. Behind her: a row of small oil lamps on a compound wall, drifting smoke, neighbours as soft silhouettes.
